Ganesh Utsav the festival of faith on Ganesha.
Ganesh Utsav is not traditional festival of India.Ganesh Utsav was started by Lokmanya Tilakg. As British government has banned gathering of Freedom fighter. Tilakg started Ganesh Utsav to held meeting with people involved in Freedom movement of India. As Tilakg started this festival in Maharshtra so people of Maharshtra started celebrateing Ganesh Utsav.at that time Ganesh Utsav was totally environment friendly.People were having faith on विघ्नहर्ता !
Over period of time Ganesh Utsav has totally changed the meaning. There are many people from whom Ganesh Utsav is just like 9days party.Following are the changed meaning of Ganesh Festival.
1.Many people use Ganesh Utsav to collect donation and enjoy that money in the name of lord Ganesh.
2.In the night you'll get many people playing cards and drinking whisky.
3.Political party show their power with Ganesh Utsav.
4.People get chance to rome in fair for 9days.
In city like mumbai where traffic on road is big problem get worse in these 9-10 days. I am very sorry for the people who celebrate Ganesh Utsav with faith and trust in people but that class in getting sink. We all need blessing of Lord Ganesha but that doesn't mean we should get drunk and fight on road to celebrate Ganpati. I have observed that Two group of people are fighting to decide their Territory to collect donation so it shows everyone want to enjoy from money collected in name of Ganpati. Ganesh Utsav now became festival for noise pollution than worship of God.
