Dev Anand

Evergreen star Dev Anand, one of the icons of Indian cinema, died Sunday after suffering a massive cardiac arrest in London. He was 88.





The iconic star is survived by his wife, former actress Kalpana Karthik, a son and a daughter.

As soon as the news spread, a grief-stricken Bollywood offered condolences and recalled his significant contribution to cinema.





Dev Anand began his career with 'Hum Ek Hain' in 1946. However, he got his first big break with 'Ziddi' in 1948.





The flamboyant star is also known for giving big hits like 'Baazi', 'Guide', 'Jewel Thief', 'Johnny Mera Naam', 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna', 'CID' and 'Tere Mere Sapne'.

His last outing as an actor and director was 'Chargesheet', a dud at the box office.





Dev Shahab was having his own style of dancing, walking and delivering dialogue. Dev Shahab’s Dance steps are getting copied today also in various movies. Dev Shahab was style icon of various youths. I do remember when I was small I used to keep my shirt collar button locked all time and people you to call me Dev Anand.
